Salvation:: Perishable or Nonperishable

Is salvation a shot in the dark, a toss of the dice, or the luck of the draw? Is salvation a fluid, day-by-day situation, much like a revolving door one moves in and out of "being saved and being lost, hoping the Lord come on their saved day? Once a person has accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, are there additional requirements to be met before one can be assured of eternal life? Nothing is more important to a believer than whether they are secure in Christ. Although we all believe what Acts 4:12 says, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved," and the promise of John 3:16, "For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life" (CSB), still, too many live under the constant fear that they might lose their salvation.
