Pictorial History of Destin and Fort Walton Beach, Florida...How blessed am I to have had a father the late Arturo Mennillo, who recorded the history and a grand-father the late Capt. Salty Brunson who lived it. Like my grandfather, I grew up along the beaches of the Emerald Coast and I heard all the folklore. I remember tales of pirates, shipwrecks, Al Copone and different tales of Leonard Destin. Some of the stories were true, while other were not. I wanted to tell these stories I had learned.
