Oreo, a little brown and white Shih Tsu, is enjoying his just reward in a magnificent heavenly preserve overseen by St, Francis of Assisi and his assistant, an angel named Celeste. The preserve is set within a boundless area of snowcapped mountains, regal virgin forests, vast open grassy plains and a refreshing stream that provides clear, pure water for the inhabitants of the preserve - all the animals that lead a good and beneficial life with each other and with the humans during their time on earth. Deer, rabbits, squirrels, bears, birds, domestic animals like horses, cows, sheep and, of course, dogs and cats, all intermingled together in the preserve as they enjoyed the eternal reward that had been set aside for them. However, Oreo, was a special case. Long ago he was the personal pet of St. Francis. From time to time, the good saint would send the little dog back to Earth to help people who had a special need. As time passed, Oreo was very successful in the tasks that St, Francis continued to give him. So successful, in fact, that he was eventually proclaimed a folklore saint by people everywhere who benefited from his presence.Now, St. Francis heard another plea; that of a very sad, lonely boy who lived with his parents on a farm in a place called Summerville, Tennessee.
