Book describes the good and bad times one is exposed to during a 40 year acareer in the Navy. Author joined the Navy after seeing the movie, Mr. Roberts immediately after graduating from high school. Without realizing it he attempted to duplicate the character played by Henry Fonda in the movie. His area of expertese was Air Traffic Control and his career led him from the grinders at San Diego, to the frozen South Pole, Alaska, the Deserts of Fallon Nevada and finally 13 years in the Pentagon as the Head of Airfields Airspace and Air Traffic Control He was promoted a total of 18 times during this career rising from E-1 through the ranks and retiring as a Navy Captain.
