Sage and the Piggy Bank

After years of saving every dime, nickel and crumpled dollar, eleven year old Sage Lee has finally found an item worthy of breaking his old piggy bank: a beautiful vintage suit that he plans on wearing to his first school dance with his very first crush (and friend since preschool) Lucy Green. But the pressures of the mind warping institution known as Thistle Springs Middle School cause him to wait too long and before he can break it, the piggy bank becomes a pig - a real pig - and escapes into the mists of his little mountain town. It soon returns and, disguised as a man, quickly squeezes his way into Sage's humble household, romancing Sage's lovesick mom and taking it upon himself to teach the young boy (who's wealthy entitled dad has been in Thailand for years) the importance of structure and decisiveness. Without recourse to using his mom's dollar store hammer (attempted murder is a one way ticket to jail) or telling the whole fantastical truth (a one way ticket to a therapist's couch) Sage must find a way to free himself from the clutches of his demonic piggy bank and return to a simpler time before middle school dances and crushes - or maybe, just maybe, bravely venture into the next chapter of his young life.
