"I love you," he said with a smile.
He wiped the tears off her cheeks gently and she leaned forward to kiss him.
"You forgive me?" she asked softly.
"You can't tell me things like that, Cathy," he said. "You need to tell me and you need to realize that you can't keep pushing yourself like this."
Catherine nodded.
"I won't hide things from you ever again," she said.
"Are you dizzy now?" asked Reid, caressing her cheek.
"No," said Catherine.
He looked at her disbelievingly.
"I'm not," said Catherine. "I'm just tired, a bit of nausea but not too bad."
"Okay. Forgiven. No secrets," he reminded her.
"No secrets," said Catherine. "In which case I should tell you that I am really sad I can't just grab you and have my way with you because you're just too gorgeous and I'm so distracted," she added, seeing an opportunity to lighten the mood.
