Safe Haven: A Psychological Thriller of Institutional Betrayal
Alex Martinez survived the streets, earned his degree, and made himself a promise: he would become the advocate he never had.
His first job at Rainbow Haven should be the beginning of that promise-a safe place for LGBTQ+ youth with nowhere else to go.
Then the kids start disappearing.
Officially, they're being transferred to other programs. But the paperwork doesn't add up. Residents are being sedated. Records are being altered. And the deeper Alex digs, the more terrifying the truth becomes: someone is using the shelter as a pipeline into a hidden network where vulnerable young people can vanish without anyone asking questions.
Except Alex is asking.
And now someone wants him silenced.
With police unwilling to investigate, doctors protecting secrets, and powerful people determined to bury the truth, Alex has no idea who he can trust. His best chance may be Tommy-a street-smart survivor who knows what happens to the kids who get "transferred" and understands exactly how dangerous that knowledge is.
Together, they begin unraveling a conspiracy built on fear, money, and the certainty that society won't look too closely at missing LGBTQ+ youth.
But exposing the truth means surviving long enough to prove it.
And inside Rainbow Haven, safety is the most dangerous illusion of all.
Safe Haven is about institutional betrayal, buried trauma, and the terrifying consequences of giving unchecked power to the people entrusted with protecting society's most vulnerable. Tense, relentless, and ultimately defiant, it asks a chilling question:
What happens when the people offering sanctuary are the ones you need to escape?
