The voice Magician Mohammad Rafi was born on December 24, 1924 in Amritsar district of Punjab. Mohammed Rafi was the youngest of six offspring of Haji Ali Mohammed. Listening to the voice of Fakir, who was singing in the street of his village, he got inspiration to sing. It is said that Fakir had blessed Rafi Saheb that this boy will earn a lot of name afterwards.From childhood, the music enthusiast Rafi took his music education from Ustad Abdul Wahid Khan. In 1935, his father came to Lahore in search of employment. Here, his elder brother gave Rafi in the lead of singer Ustad Usman Khan. Subsequently, Rafi Sahab got inspiration from the classical musicians like Pandit Jeevan Lal and Ustad Ghulam Ali Khan.Without the voice of Mohammed Rafi, Hindi music can not be imagined. There is a wonderful world of songs based on their classical music. Between 1950 and 1970, Rafi sang many superhit songs and made his special mark in the Hindi film industry. Rafi Sahab also got six Filmfare Award and a National Award. In 1967, the Indian government honored him with Padma Shri.Mohammed Rafi is known for his special songs, especially for Hindi songs. However, he sang about 7400 songs in all the languages, which mainly include Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi, Sindhi, Kannada, Gujarati, Telugu, Magahi, Maithili and Urdu language etc. Apart from the Indian languages, he has sung in English, Persian, Arabic and Dutch.To pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi after his assassination in January 1948, he sang the song "Suno suno ay duniya walon, Bapu Ki Amar Amar". Listening to this song Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's eyes full with tears. Rafi Sahib had the ability to sing all kinds of songs. There was no limit to the dimensions of his voice. They won the hearts of people of every age, every class and every person with songs of hymns, ghazals, qawali, patriotic songs, paints, etc.. In the career of his film music, he has been honored with Naushad, Sachin Dev Burman, C. Ramchandra, Roshan, Shankar-Jaikishan, Madan Mohan, OP Nayyar, Chitragupta, Kalyanji-Anandji, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Salil Chaudhary, Ravindra Jain, Iqbal Qureshi, Hussanlal, Shyam Sunder, Firoz Nizami, Hanslal, Bhagatram, etc. Narayan Rao, Hansraj Behl, Ghulam Haider, Babylon, GS Kohli, Vasant Desai, S.N. Tripathi, Sajjad Hussain, Sardar Malik, Pandit Ravi Shank , Ustad Alla kept, AR Quraishi, Lakhiram, Dattaram, N Dutta, C Arjun, Ramlal, Sapan Jagmohan, Shyam ji Ghanshyamji, Ganesh, Sonik-Omi, Shambhu Sen, Usha Khanna, Bappi Lahdi, Ram-Lakshman, Ravi, Together with musicians like Rahul Deo Burman and Anu Malik, the magic of your music is scattered.Rafi Sahib breathed his last on July 31, 1980. His funeral was done in the Juhu Muslim cemetery, in which about 10,000 people were present. In his honor, the Government of India had declared a two-day national holiday.
