Sacrifice Made Easy

Although most people have taken on a small risk or sacrifice at some time in their life, James McLaughlin, misguidedly becomes involved with a criminal element to make some extra cash, and soon discovers the lure and satisfaction of easy money, along with the personal lesson they bring to him; that there is no limit to the amount of sacrifice it takes to satisfy one's own greed. Sacrifice Made Easy is the story of a young police officer who desires to better himself and his family financially, and allows himself to be coerced by his convict brother into, what is believed to be, a small time drug operation. Without realizing the extent of his involvement, he learns too late the steep price that dirty money will eventually make him pay. The setting of the story takes place in modern time, in a small, simple, country town, deep in the colloquial heartland of the Southern United States. The main character, James McLaughlin, finds himself uprooted from his native city lifestyle, and now resides in an old country farmhouse in Newburg, not by his own choosing. James walks the line between what he desires, and what a police officer stands for; discovering how good large sums of money feel in his hands, and how painful that good feeling can become. The story that unfolds is one of greed, conspiracy, deception, and murder, as those around James get drawn into making their own sacrifices. Decisions and choices of those that surround James are based upon individual levels of involvement, not realizing how each decision will affect each other's profitability, and just how much their own greed will make them sacrifice. Unknown to everyone, is that the puppet master behind the organization has plans for everyone involved in his game of corrupt venture; having already put the pendulum into motion, which cannot be stopped until he decides that the game is over.
