Good Follow up

The only thing that kept me from giving this a flat out five stars is the fact that this book seemed to veer off and became dry all together. After completing this book I was wondering what was it between this and the first story in this series that just felt off. I remember it picking up where from the end of the other one it just seem that good ol' Elijah could not overcome his enemies in the story almost as if this was rushed. Be it as it may, I still liked it. It still took the mind on a journey to different places. You still got fresh view of the imps and other creatures of the spiritual underworld. You also got a view of the surroundings in the story. Good follow up, could've been better but good in its own right.

TL Gardner Has Done It Again!

Sacrifice is the exciting sequel to TL Gardner's The Protector. The story picks up with Elijah Garland, who is not only fighting demons but working for the FBI as well. Elijah and his agent girlfriend, Ebonee Lane, are still together and Elijah wants nothing more than to keep her safe. This obsession and his only known weakness, love, has led him to once again question his faith and his calling. It is for this reason that he feels that he must leave Ebonee, so that he can keep her out of harm's way. Little does he realize that leaving her isn't the answer to keeping her safe, because Ebonee's soul will be captured and held prisoner by a fallen angel named Shemhazai. Elijah's quest to free Ebonee's soul will lead him to Egypt. Once there, he has to find the tomb of an Egyptian King that bears the mark of Gabriel. Will Elijah be able to save Ebonee's soul and continue to fight evil? Sacrifice is an awesome follow-up story. It shows the true struggle that anyone could have when it comes to questioning your faith. I loved this story, because it stayed true to the formula of make believe and the real world. TL Gardner still writes an awesome fight scene, that is described with so much detail that you can easily see the scene playing in your mind. The cover of the book is good, but I would've loved to see a visual of a young man with white locs (white hair). I could tell that The Demon Hunter Series was going to be a good one after I read the first book. I really do hope that there will be more books in this series and I look forward to reading them. (RAW Rating: 4.5) -

SACRIFICE, book 2 of the Demon Hunter Series places readers back in the life of Elijah Garland, the Protector. He is still struggling to find some meaning in the destiny he inherited after his death. Elijah's lineage is not ordinary; his mother was human, but his father was the Arch Angel, Gabriel. Elijah, who is currently working with the FBI, is in a precarious condition. His need to be with Ebonee Lane (who is also his partner in the bureau), his overwhelming desire to keep her safe, and the confusion surrounding his destiny are threatening his sanity. Ebonee's life was put in jeopardy when she was used as bait to capture him. Elijah who has battled with his spirituality all of his life, changed once he was killed and resurrected. But, his latest confrontations, with demons, have challenged his faith again, and has him thinking he should get away from Ebonee for her own safety. Before he resolves his dilemma, Ebonee's soul is imprisoned by one of the original fallen angels, Shemhazai. Shemhazai wants his freedom from the four celestial guardians who stand watch over his tomb. He also wants revenge on the Protector, who banished him from mankind. The solution to Elijah's problems is buried deep in the bowels of Egypt. Elijah's search will pair him with an American and an Egyptian excavator who may be the last defenses against the resurrection of a sinister evil. They will journey to the sacred tomb of an Egyptian King which carries 'the mark of Gabriel'. Along with the dangers surrounding their infiltration of the tombs, Elijah is being stalked by a very human nemesis who wants to destroy him. Elijah will have to empower his faith and believe God will give him the power to withstand, if he is to save himself and rescue Ebonee from the clutches of the demon Dalfien. SACRIFICE is the perfect title for a book which tests the characters' resiliency as they make unworldly decisions and ultimate sacrifices. The story is an adventure that captures two worlds, with characters who dare to live in both. Readers will desperately hope their sacrifices will catapult them to that precipice where light rules darkness. SACRIFICE bears an uncanny revelation of the spiritual realm, and T.L. Gardner seems to be shaping his own destiny. This will hold you captive for as long as you can hang on. Reviewed by aNN of The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers
