Great Stories

Sacred Attention has great stories. I loved Grizzly Bear Love--funny & telling. Hearty Fish Soup made me laugh; it prompted the warm feeling that the author creates later in the chapter (p. 22 The church was warm, etc.). The most meaningful chapter to me was the one about the grandmother and the axe, especially the thread "But when I am by myself with my axe, there is no telling who might drop by--living or dead." Wonderful strong voice, humor, and exceptional writing.

Well worth the read

A delightful collection of stories wrapped around the liturgical calendar and following the central theme of paying attention. Ms. McGee does a masterful job of drawing in the reader with engaging prose and a well constructed message. A book that made me think, feel, identify, cry and in the end, pay attention! A recommended read for anyone caught up in today's fast paced world.
