Ruth Petrovna Erdel is the daughter of Peter Deyneka who broadcast Christian sermons in Russian to oppressed Christians world-wide in the early and mid-nineties. His broadcasts were through short wave radio from Quito, Equador. This was the only Christian lifeline for most Russian Christians during Communism. Ruth, his daughter, continues to work with Russian immigrants to the United States. I recently had the privilege of meeting her in the Ukraine where she was celebrating the 75th anniversary of Slavic Gospel Association with Russian speaking churches. She is a missionary committed to prayer and sharing the gospel.
