This book can be viewed as a companion book to the one the Russians brought to the World Fair in Chicago in 1893 which was titled "The Industries of Russia: Agriculture and Forestry, Volume 3." The 37 maps and 10 diagrams of that book are reproduced and recolored and sometimes broken into more than one map or diagram. Russian units of measure used at that time and in their book, such as dessiatines and chetverts, are converted into English units such as acres and bushels.
The text part of the Russian book is summarized and references to German colonists, who helped to establish the grain industry in what is now Ukraine and Crimea, are included. Anyone interested in the history of agricultural development in Russia and Ukraine and anyone interested in the history of the German-Russian people will find a lot to like about this book.
