This is the fourth book in a series called "In One Guy's Life." While purposely avoiding simply capturing a chronological record of the author's life, the first two books in the series titled "Chapters" and "Chapters Continue" attempt to focus on the many different individual components, or chapters, that have influenced it, sometimes favorably and other times unfavorably. In the third book titled "Music, Poems & Lyrics," the author expresses himself through various musical and poetic compositions. Now, in this forth book the author describes a personal journey of traveling cross-country on the epic Mother Road visiting countless iconic landmarks, scenery, wildlife, etc. that induce pleasant memories and provide numerous examples of God's wonderful creation. Perhaps by default, the result is an array of personal feelings, expressions, passions, sentiments, etc. that have manifested themselves during different times, circumstances, situations, and emotional states in the author's life. In many cases, the reader may immediately discern the author's state of mind, whether positive and cheerful or negative and depressed. However, perhaps the places, people, perspectives, and personal passion will trigger more individual and specific memories of one's own past or present for renewed enjoyment or consideration. Accordingly, they may help the reader embrace the warmth and appreciation of good times remembered, as well as be a further reminder to live each day in a positive way. Whereas the first three books are structured to allow the reader to potentially jump forward to areas (chapters) of most personal interest, "Russ' Route 66 Road Trip" is structured as a chronological record of places and events associated with the journey. The author has attempted to the trip with his own life's experiences of the past in such a way that others may find some benefit. These experiences may be relevant whether it involves similarities of common memories or interests, or even lessons that the reader may take away and perhaps avoid the same outcomes, follies or regrets. Perhaps it will trigger more personal and specific memories of one's own past or present for renewed consideration. Accordingly, it may even further motivate one to make amends for acts or transgressions of the past, convey warmth and appreciation for the "good times" remembered. Therefore, try to keep an open mind, search for similarities in your own life, learn where possible, course adjust where feasible, and most importantly celebrate the good times and memories. Even if only to make you laugh ... enjoy!
