Why can't we control ourselves? Why is it that we are so compulsive when it comes to things, we know we shouldn't be doing? Is it our human nature that leads us blindly into our desires? Are we just ignorant and accept our weaknesses? We have an aspect within all of us that controls what we do. There's this little voice that talks to us. It wants things no matter if they are good or bad for us. Why can't we resist what we know isn't good for us? Why do we tend to play with the fire when we know we will get burned? It's as if we have a part of us that is not us and it's leading the way most of the time.We have to regain control of ourselves and I believe the only way to do that is to get to know the real you. The "you" that you have always wanted to be. The "you" that's in control in an out of control world. I believe the only way to get to know yourself is to look deep within your emotions. How do you respond in high stress situations or life changing events? Our emotions control our responses but how do you control your emotions? Our emotions are not the main source of our lack of control over our lives, but they are the main manipulation point. People and worldly objects play a big part in how our emotions are construed. How can you be truly free if you're still under the control of material objects? How do you take back control? Again, you have to find your internal self. Your true being is inside you begging to be let free.Almost everything can be controlled once you've mastered your mindfulness. Once you're aware of your habits that you don't like, you should be able to mindfully stop doing them. Like smoking or eating too much. Once you're aware of your habits from an internal perspective, you can stop yourself from acting them out. Same can be said for your emotions and the responses they cause.
