Fantastic and Inspiring

Toby has written a beautiful book. This book made me want to dust off my old running shoes and hit the trail again. This book has a meditative demeanor and speaks to the Soul of running; and to anything that you would want to bring more mindfulness too. I could tell as I read the book that Toby practices what he writes about. He writes with a transformative quality and I highly recommend you buy this book and practice his teachings.

He included so many spiritual exercises that can help you fulfill your life's purpose and dreams. This book is a gift from spirit. Read it!!!

Inspirational, Persuasive, Motivating

"Running Home" is a book about focus. The book is more than a how to manual on sports and fitness; it is inspirational, persuasive, and motivating. The book is includes 35 meditations based on affirmations and character qualities. These captivating stories grab the reader's attention, and are designed to encourage runners to carry the satisfying experience of running into an enriching and deepening personal and professional growth, regardless of their chosen sport. Estler writes from his heart with a rare combination of sportscaster, poet, and chaplain. He speaks about the joy of running as a way to access the inner essence of man's spirit. Toby made himself vulnerable as he shared his flaws, his struggles, and successes to demonstrate how enhancing his running efficiency helped him find creative solutions in different areas of his life. I found this admirable as it revealed genuineness about Estler as a man. Next he adapts the lessons he learned through running to cultivate the reader's understanding of the relationship of running to the life's daily events. He showed how this can create peace, calmness, a spiritual awareness, and personal wholeness. Toby Estler, a remarkable communicator, eloquently articulates how running has transformed his life, empowering him to overcome his past. It is his hope that sharing these experiences will help others to turn their lives around to move toward their goals to experience a more rewarding behavior.

A must for all runners

Reviewed by William E. Cooper for Reader Views (1/07) While I am not a runner, I found Toby Estler's book to be a wonderful addition to my desire to read good, inspirational books. This is a runner's guide for preparing for running, mentally, physically, and spiritually. It is also a guide for everyday living and working. Mr. Estler has an extensive and diverse set of experiences he brings to the reader; he has lived what he talks about. He has learned how to start and how to persevere, something many people today could learn. His writing is clearly from the heart and is easy to read and be inspired by. Mr. Estler's journey serves as a roadmap that is not only easy to follow, but easy to begin, which is where we need to be. In terms of physical fitness, running has clearly proven its value. By having the mental and spiritual pieces in place, this can only be a win-win. I really recommend "Running Home" and emphasize that while the focus is on running, the theme applies to everything we do in life.
