Riziki is a woman who grew up in the slums of Mombasa. She believes her way out of poverty is to marry a white man and move to Europe. Hence she turns to prostitution with the hope of finding a white husband and wealth. Her journey ends up being interspersed with that of an Italian drug dealer and a corrupt Kenyan drug baron. In the latter years she gets involved with a polygamous politician past his sale-by-date. Their relationship ends up being destroyed by invisible corrupt forces and tribalism
