Michal, in the autumn of his life, feels compelled to write about his time as an eleven-year-old boy when events unfolded that were so traumatic that they remained in his memory for the rest of his life. Michal's father, Timon, writes three particular books that are hugely successful, but in the process, he makes enemies. Michal suddenly finds himself a ward of the state and is placed in a residential school, where events send his life into turmoil.
Ultimately, Michal, having inherited his father's creative mind, must call upon his imagination to tackle a deeply worrying problem.
