Two Texas rangers escorted Drew to the parking lot. He checked his black Malibu for tracking devices and calmly handed the rangers the two that he found. Once he turned the key, the sick chugging noise of the starter made his heart race. He grabbed his backpack and escaped the car but was thrown to the ground from the impact as it exploded. One of the rangers had also been, but Drew saw the other taking shelter behind another car. Before he could recover, the ranger started shooting at him and heard air escaping from several nearby tires as he scurried to safety. Shards of glass fell on him and the ground. He heard more shots and a yell and peeked around a vehicle to see the ranger who was on the ground sit up and shoot his colleague for firing at Drew. Run of Honor is the last in The Council series by R. L. Crump that also includes The Bad Shepherd, The Stalking Beast, and Broken. In his final appearance, Drew Kaufman risks everything to avenge nine unsolved murders.
