Free Your Mind

What woman would not find this book an exciting read? If you are open-minded and do not mind "dirty talk", then this book should be next on your reading list. Men take note! I found Amy Sloan's details of Ariel's "adventures" exciting, yet comedic at the same time. It was not a moving, mind-blowing book that changed my life (like some books have), but it took me away from reality for a short time. And any book that can do that is a great novel to me.

A hot and sexy Jewish girl tails all!!!

A sizzeling hot story of a young hot chick who tries to make herself famous in the entertainment world. (A dream that every girl wants.) Thee perfect book for those of you who are up-to-date with modern slang ot those who'd like to keep up. Ariel Steiner, the novels narrater, tells the story and shows how powerful, subductive, and whitty a women can be. (Don't try this at home folks.) If you'd like to see a sweet little brunet Jewish girl tell you a little somethin' about ones illicit private life read this book. However, it contains adult language and content so keep out of reach from the little ones!

Most captivating book in months........

Thank You Amy for writing such an excellent book. I am 22 and i live in Brooklyn. Maybe, i enjoyed the book so much because i am in that age group. I think it is an esay no hassle read. It turned me on and flipped me out. A real independent girl living with the day to day trials and tribulations of dating in N.Y.C. I loved the fact that this book moved from scene to scene and didn't drag out like other books do. I went with the story like i was living it. I finished the book and am sad to say that i already miss the fun and wish there was more. Amy please put that pen to paper again.

Engaging and hilarious

I loved Run Catch Kiss and had trouble putting it down until I finished it. I laughed out loud so much that my husband was eager to read it after me. Although extremely sexy (fans of Sohn's column will not be disappointed), the book is about a lot more than the protagonist Ariel's sex life. It's also an engrossing tale of how her job as a sex columnist affects her relationships with her family, her friends and her own self image. Sohn has a fantastic imagination, the wild fantasies about sex and stardom are creative and hilarious. The book is very smart and witty - a perfect book for the beach or vacation.

Easily the best of the "it girl" novels this summer

The folks at Viking are to be congratulated for having worked Melissa Bank onto the best seller list via their good p.r. work, but it would be more than a shame if Amy Sohn's far more powerful opus gets less than its fair share of limelight.I saw Ms. Sohn on Judith Regan's book show on Fox, and I bought the book hoping that some percentage of her intelligence and articulateness made it to the printed page. That percentage is about 110 - i.e., she's an even better writer than she is a "talk show guest," and that's saying a lot!I've read her newspaper columns enough to sense what a risk she and her editor must have taken when they went for a robust novel rather than a much easier-to-write and easier-to-market "memoir" or collection of previously published pieces.This is a classic "couldn't put it down" book -- its opening paragraph grabs you and I found myself alternately laughing and out loud and cringing at the biting portrayals of both people and "scenes" she turns out. (These must be among the biggest dividends writing 3000-word pieces for a newspaper could provide.)The New York Press kicked New York's sleepy Village Voice out of bed with writers like Amy Sohn. It's good to see that she had the moxie to reach for -- and I certainly hope will find -- a much larger and diverse audience.Way to go, girl!
