Some of Knight's best work

Both of these books are excellent reads--action, thought and philosophy permeate the narrative. Rule Golden is a classic of science fiction; its viewpoint character is believable in his imperfections and its vision of eventual utopia is breathtaking. Double Meaning is nearly as good, and after all how can you resist a novella which celebrates the place of puns in intergalactic history? Damon Knight packs his writing full of interesting and well-thought out ideas--philosophical, sociological, and scientific--and writes well enough to pull them off. The book is very difficult to put down, but concise enough to read in less than a day. Buy this book. Trust me.
