This is a Ruby scripting tutorial book. The teaching revolves around demonstrable examples, and case studies.This is supposed to be a somewhat quick learning aid. Although in my view it has quiet a good coverage of basic Ruby features, from scripting point of view as well as a nice and quite detailed coverage of regular expressions, with explanations and examples. As a bonus (if I may say so) you will get a lot of ready made scripts (in print), for some simple, and not so simple scripting tasks, which you can possibly use, with (hopefully) little or no changes, in some of your actual work.This is not a reference level book on Ruby language itself. However, in my view, it discusses enough basic Ruby features - geared towards Ruby scripting, so that - for many ordinary scripting tasks, if you follow this book in earnest, you should not need another Ruby book.
