A "tell it like it was" book of early 20th Century life.

I really enjoyed this book as a detailed account of life in the early 20th Century. Ruby never does conquer the feeling of "not doing enough with her time and talent". We get a much broader picture of life from these pages than we do from most biographies which tend to gloss over the everyday agonies of ordinary people's lives. Would love to know what the rest of her life was like - after 1936. I wonder how the writing of this book affected the writer. I would have been very interesting to read what her husband ws thinking all these years - or was he even thinking?
