Rube Dugan's Diving Bell: An Illustrated History

Rube Dugan's Diving Bell is an iconic simulation attraction that was in operation from 1977-1984 at Silver Dollar City, a theme park in Branson, Missouri. Through over 115 photographs and illustrations, author Mark Kumming tells the story of this now "lost" attraction which is beloved by both generations of guests and employees of Silver Dollar City. The "ride" simulated an adventure in an Ozark submarine invented by Captain Rube Dugan and piloted by his nephew, the daffy "Junior Dugan." Capt. Rube, Junior, and their volunteers race the ornery Eli Tolts to Grandpappy Dugan's lost treasure buried under the waters of Silver Dollar City's Lake Silver. Author Mark Kumming played the role of "Junior Dugan" at this popular theme park attraction from 1979-1984, and tells the history of the diving bell from an "insiders" point of view.
