There is a wonderful flow of emotions in both literature and cinema. I have been a cinema lover since childhood. The films of Raj Kapoor, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Subhash Ghai, Ram Gopal Varma, David Dhawan, Sooraj Barjatya, Rohit Shetty, Priyadarshan, Anurag Kashyap, and Karan Johar have shaped my sensibilities. The storytelling styles of these legendary directors have also influenced my writing.
Since childhood, various stories, characters, and dialogues would form in my mind, but amidst the chaos of life and the rush of work, this creativity often had to be set aside. My busy professional life made it difficult to find time for myself, and these ideas remained tucked away.
But from January 2025, I began this journey with seriousness. "Prem Samar" was my first novel, and the next step in this journey is "Rowdy Ganpat"-a sincere attempt to put into words the emotions, experiences, and ideas I had cherished in my mind.
"Rowdy Ganpat" is a novel written in the style of a full-on Bollywood masala film. You will find moments that make you laugh out loud, thrilling action sequences, heart-wrenching drama, sweet romance, and gripping courtroom drama. It is the entertaining yet deeply touching story of two people's life journey, offering a spectrum of the Navarasas-ranging from humor to pathos, romance to heroism.
This novel was originally written in Marathi. Many of my friends requested an English version, and due to my busy schedule, I have used ChatGPT to assist with the translation. I hope you will still feel the depth, emotion, & essence I intended to convey.
Emotions are the soul of the human heart, and each emotion brings its own world-sometimes joyous, sometimes painful, but always giving life a unique meaning. In Indian literature and art, this is expressed through the concept of the Navarasas. Inspired by this, I have resolved to write different novels exploring various rasas. "Prem Samar" presented the blend of Shringara and Karuna, while "Rowdy Ganpat" brings the thrill of Veer and the delight of Hasya.
In my next novel, I plan to experiment uniquely with the combination of Shringara and Bibhatsa-exploring the clash of love and ugliness, beauty and horror, to create a completely new story.
Through this journey, I aim to bring new colors, new emotions, and new experiences every time. I am confident that my second attempt will resonate with you as much as my first.
