When she meets Skeeter, a mouse living in the nearby garbage dump, they become the best of friends. A kind man in a pickup truck spots the puppy and tries to help by driving her back to town. Skeeter jumps in the truck without being seen. Back in town but left at the curb, they must now rely on the kindness of strangers to survive.
Without finding any food, they fall asleep exhausted.
The next morning, they meet O.C, a free-spirited cat that knows all the best places to get fed.
Led by the cat's knowledgeable instincts, the trio find a welcoming Granny that offers a new home and a new name just in time for Christmas.
Rosie tells her story to raise awareness about animal abuse and abandonment in an easy-to-read book for young readers.
