The vegetative propagation of semi-woody olive cuttings is the most widely used process for obtaining new plants, clones of the parent plants. This is complex and requires several steps and various treatments, which are described in detail in this work. It addresses the rooting mechanism of cuttings from four different olive tree varieties, namely Cobran osa, Verdeal, Negrinha and Santulhana, representative of the Tr s-os-Montes and Alto Douro regions of Portugal. Once this was done, the results obtained and the respective conclusions were analysed.
