I loved these books when I was a teen. I read them all probably several times over! Unfortunately they were lost in my parents divorce and I'm looking for a set for my daughter to read in a couple years when she's 11-12.
THe Canby Hall Girls

What a strange combonation of girls. Dana the New Yorker is high on style she is not spoiled. She's energetic. She meets a guy named Bret. According to everyone, he is the heart breaker king. Everyone was right. Faith is a photographer. She's black and doesn't like the fact that the blonde girl is staring at her because of that. Faith makes a friend who turns out to be a mess. Shelly was the smalltown girl. She suspects her parents sent her to this school because they think she is overly attached with her boyfriend. (Which is true.) Shelley suffers from hometown and wants to be hometown. They are all in their sophomore year of high school (not college) but it's their first time in boarding school. They find themselves and it's a good book.
Excellent teen read - or great nostalgic buy!

A series of books (maybe 35 or so) written in the 1980's about 3 young college women rooming together and sharing all the heartaches, fears, and excitement of growing up. I read these books as a young teen and loved Dana, Faith, and Shelly! Now they have become collectibles for me and the kind of thing I'd like to pass onto a daughter of mine one day. It's the kind of fiction meant for age 10-16 really, despite the fact that it centers around college girls. Really good!
Very Good

This book is pretty good. I found it at the library and was instantly hooked after I finished. It's about 3 roommates --Dana-independent city girl, Faith-determined and practical, and Shelley-naive, small town girl-- and their great adventures as they start boarding school. Now I'm looking for more since the series is out of print.
