What do you do when you realize that your foolproof moneymaking idea is completely flawed? Ask Jerry and Carrie Horne. Jerry and Carrie Horne were excited knowing that at the end of the 2017-2018 school year, they would be officially retired from Monroe City Schools located in Monroe, LA. With both of their children grown and gone, Jerry, 59, came up with a bright idea to preserve their retirement money by renting one of their children's room. Carrie, 60, was very reluctant about the idea, but she agreed to conduct interviews for a potential tenant. After several unsuccessful interviews, Jerry's bright idea had turned dark. That is until his best friend, Dexter Dumas, 50, recommended his childhood friend, Carissa Fine, 49, as their new tenant. Carissa was scheduled to work in Monroe on a two month Special Project with her employer, CenturyLink. She seemed like the perfect tenant. She was happily married; she would only be in town for a couple of months; and she would be on call 24-7 for the duration of the project. It seemed like a win-win situation for everyone. That is until Jerry and Carrie discover that Carissa has more baggage than Samsonite. Jerry and Carrie didn't know it, but their greatest lesson learned was about to come just before their last roll call.
