Solving problems through imagination!

Harshman and Collins tell the story of the Woods family who live on their windy mountain farm, and who have little food and less money, but have each other - and plenty of rocks. Elementary-aged readers are shown an example of resourcefulness when something as simple as an overabundance of rocks is used for heat, for holding the characters down on terribly windy days, and finally, for profit, when they're polished and sold to "city folk." Children learn that problem-solving skills often come from one's own imaginative ideas. Illustrations are bright, comedic, watercolor drawings.
