There are literally thousands of books about the Beatles. Some are brilliant; some are insightful. Some are extremely useful to the serious artist, some to the technical musician. Some are frivolous, some deeply earnest.

But not that many of them are fun.

The Beatles were all-of-the-above: brilliant, insightful, serious artists, frivolous, earnest - and fun And finally it dawned on me that what was needed was a book like the Beatles themselves - a book that wasn't just informative or historical or useful, but which reflected the actual dynamic of the boys from Liverpool.
