P.K.Merski delights the reader with a story about the naughtiest, most selfish little girl who, when she doesn't get her way throws the most horrible of tantrums. Her voice is then stripped and turned into many hues by a little blue man who tells her that only when she is nice will she get it back. Roaring, Boring Alice then realizes how important it is to be sweet. Her voice is then returned but every so often, the ol' Alice comes out in her and that is when the Aurora Borealis can be seen in the night sky. Great story with a GOOD MORAL LESSON told in a simple way with beautiful watercolor illlustrations to delight kids young and old.

Roaring, Boring Alice written by P. K. Merski and illustrated by Mark Weber is the picturebook story of the Aurora Borealis told in a rhyming verse by a little house mouse. The charming tall tale introduces readers to the ungrateful Alice, whose loud voice changes into the Northern Lights - until an odd little person offers her the choice to be nice, so that her normal voice will return. An afterword explains the scientific phenomenon of the aurora borealis, noting that the colorful lights do indeed have a voice - swishing, crackling, spark-like sounds that have been recorded by scientists. A vivid and just plain fun storybook.
