Lions Clubs International is an international secular, non-political service organization founded by Melvin Jones in 1917. As of April 2015, it had over 46,000 local clubs and more than 1.4 million members in over 200 countries around the world. Two of its major goals are to prevent blindness and provide eye care for indigent visually impaired persons worldwide. Each club is independent and carries out its own activities and projects to further the overall purpose of Lions Clubs International. This book is a spoof about a fictitious Lions Club, the Beaumont Lions Club in Wilmington, North Carolina. The hero, Ken Moore, joined that club and quickly became deeply involved, both mentally and physically, in its activities and projects. He is also a Certified Public Accountant who has numerous confrontations with the IRS, particularly Agent U. R. Kalt. He wins some tax cases and loses some others despite his expertise in tax law. At home, Ken thinks he is an expert handyman because he subscribes to and reads every article in the Family Handyman magazine. Some of his home repairs don't work out the way he planned.
