Life is hard. When you suddenly lose the ability to provide for your family, and you find yourself searching for ways that will give you the same standard of living. Money suddenly becomes tight as Luke is faced with no prospects of a future in Ann Arbor and the reality that he must search for work someplace far away from his family.

His idea to ride his motorcycle across America doesn't go well, but according to him, it's the best solution to their problems, at least that what he thinks. His wife, however doesn't see it that way. She instead, will be facing the worry of something happening to her husband, leaving her a widow, to raise two children by herself.
