Ro Ro Morse is a detective in Philadelphia, and she knows the scum with whom she battles. This fictional crime noir seems very real in its creativeness, as the author writes of the streets he has walked, so his imagination isn't pulling from some totally fictional pile of universal ideas, but is drawn straight from the mind's eye, relatable imagery forged into walking and talking and breathing characters. It is so good it almost seems like true crime. Good stuff.
