One of our ancestors came to America as an indentured servant from France, when his debt was paid off, he bought a farm 5 minutes from our old house. According to burial records, he was buried in that county. I have searched all cemeteries in the county. I am wondering if by some chance he was buried on his farm. Which was pretty common practice back then. Seems like it would be easy enough to find since we know where the farm was but the kicker. That area was turned into a lake! For Samhain we decided as a family we would take the kayaks out to the lake a paddle to the area of the farm and leave an offering and light floating some candles.
What are your plans for connecting to ancestors? This issue covers Mabon and Samhain celebrations.
