River Gardens

Lynda Ross and Robert Kiss grew up on the River Gardens housing estate during the 1940/50s. This is their story and those of their childhood friends. These children were neither the 'Silent Generation' nor the 'Baby Boomers' but something in between. They survived the War, the austerity of the post-War years, they were the first beneficiaries of the National Health Service but teenagers under the shadow of the Bomb.
