Written at the young band level, this piece musically portrays the preliminary dance surrounding a fictional rite of passage ceremony. The initial announcement of dignitaries is followed by their parade past those in attendance. This is followed by the candidate's procession who is then trailed by family and relatives. All in attendance then proceed to follow the procession to the designated ritual area where the ceremony will take place. The accelerando indicates that all is ready and the ceremony is about to begin. (2:40)
