I found the book Risking Church
to be one of the best books on church structure I have ever read. In many ways it mirrors Larry Crabb’s book Soul Talk. But Crabb’s book was concerned with personal counseling not church operations.
Reading Kallam, one can see the church as a living organism. Kallam believes that church should not focus on accomplishments or obtaining “trophies”, but providing a safe and caring place for spiritual growth.
The mistake many church leaders make is relying on their own strength and understanding and not having a dependency on the Holy Spirit. Strength and security comes from dependency on God.
This is a great book to read.
