Rising Above Epilepsy - Breaking Through Constant Fear and Uncertainty
For over 50 years, a shadow has tried to dictate my life. Diagnosed with epilepsy at 15, I know the constant dread-the fear of the next seizure, the anxiety over changing medications, and the quiet strain it puts on every activity I choose to engage in, the relationships with close ones, especially with close ones; and of course, the need for adequate support from a physician. I understand the chaos of managing prescriptions, the puzzle of mood swings and sleep cycles, and the frustration of constantly screening for the treacherous hidden triggers.
