Over the Easter holidays, a substantial portion of the Belizean population heads for the coast to celebrate the end of the dry season. Walt Wilson wanted a break from Kate Phillips, his part-time boss and full-time girlfriend, before the Easter madness of 2010 so he decided to get in a week of fishing on the Rio Mojo. Little did he realize he was trading a week of dealing with happy drunks at the Brown Pelican Bar and Restaurant on Shark Cay for a dangerous interlude in the Belizean interior. Walt never considered Xate palm rustlers, Honduran revolutionaries, or an enemy from his past that he didn't even know was alive when he planned his fishing trip. The friend who invited Walt to try inland fishing, Constable Jorge McKenna, has his own problems. Being a Creole cop from the islands in predominantly Hispanic southern Belize was not a comfortable situation. Jorge didn't help matters when he became infatuated with the virginal daughter of an aristocratic cattle rancher.
