Enjoyable Read for Regualr Readers of Sandra Brown

I rated "Riley in the Morning" a four simply because I was a bit disappointed with the ending. The premise of the book is that TV producer Brin Cassidy and her estranged husband Jon Riley who is the star of his own morning show (you guessed it) Riley in the Morning duke out the problems of their relationship. Sandra Brown's idea for the story is not new, but still fun to read. This is a fast paced book, and doesn't take long to read. In short, the conflict arises when Riley decides it would be the appropriate time to discuss the status of their relationship the night that Brin is hosting a dinner party for co-workers. The book then whirlwinds into a two day long extravaganza that will keep you rooting for the couple. To be perfectly honest, I was expecting a little bit more from the ending. I wouldn't go so far as to say I felt cheated, but I definitely felt like this was worked up to be more than it was. I think that the last few chapters are predictable, though I really don't think it takes too much away from the read. Again it doesn't spoil the book. I'm still happy to recommend this book for a read sometime, but I would not recommend it as the first Sandra Brown novel to read. This is not the best example of the author's talent. I would suggest starting off with Sandra Brown's "Exclusive" if you've never read her work before. It's a fantastic starting point! I'd suggest saving this one for later if you're not familiar with Ms. Brown's work. If you've been reading Sandra Brown already, then by all means, live it up. It's still really fun!

SEX, LOVE, WIT - WHAT A READING!

Readers know what to expect from Sandra Brown and she doesn't disappoint. Forty-one bestsellers are more than proof of her enduring popularity, as she continues to offer a melange of sex, love, wit, and entertainment. Riley In The Morning delivers again with its story of TV producer Brin Cassidy, who is hosting an all important party honoring network president Abel Winn. So, who appears at her door? The caterers? No. The florist? No. Her irresistibly handsome estranged husband Jon Riley, host of television's "Riley In The Morning." What a night that turns out to be! How appropriate that the audio version is read by Tony Award nominee Alison Fraser who has been seen on TV's "All My Children." She knows how to read a love story, and she does it with gusto!

A ..., terrific romance novel !!!

I'm very disappointed to see the lukewarm reviews that "Riley in the Morning" received upon its re-release. I've owned this book since it originally came out and it's always been one of my favorites. This is the type of sexy, super-romantic book that Sandra Brown first made her name with. Unfortunately, in the last several years she has forgotten her romance fans and has been writing suspense. Any negative reviews here on ... must be coming from her suspense fans, not her romance fans. The character of Riley is an ultra-sexy, humorous, fun to be with hero, who adores his wife. He's not perfect, but his flaws are funny. And it's great to see how the two protagonists keep things sizzling and eventually get their marriage back together. "Riley in the Morning" is a keeper, and a true romance. Romance lovers should rejoice that it is available again after so many years out of print.

Quick read that's sure to please

I've read every Sanda Brown book published. She's one of my favorite authors. I truly enjoy these old romance novels she's written years ago. They're a quick read that you can really enjoy the characters. The plot in this book is a little corney, but the characters make the book interesting. They interact well together and it's written well. Thanks for a great evening!
