This book is a memoir. Because of publishing conventions it's listed as a work of fiction. Nothing could be farther from the truth. It's all real. Each story, each person, every event actually happened with the exception of the travels in the Corvair. Every one of these stories were published in one or another "city" magazine, of which there were many, in the city of Tampa, Florida. Most of them were cover stories in the various editions.The reason for writing this book is because these stories are just too good to languish in old manuscript files, so the author decided to recast them into book form which, hopefully, will have longer shelf life than a monthly magazine.
