Ridgeline: A Small-Town Romance (Silver Notch Book 1)

By Ale[X] M.

He trusts the map, she trusts the mountain, but the deadline doesn't care.

Nadia Okorotz runs Silver Notch Outfitters on boot-feel and a habit of checking every knot twice. At 22, an anchor she had set herself gave way under 2 climbers, her competition career ended that afternoon, and she has never trusted a single check since. Her ridgeline zipline route is the winter money that keeps her Colorado ski town alive past the last thaw, and the Forest Service review that decides its fate closes July 15.

Sambad Petrakis is the trail-access officer who says no cleanly and yes rarely. His family lost their ranch's winter range to an easement drawn without a field check, so he verifies everything against the ground before his stamp touches it. Her corridor reads true where the maps read wrong; his signature stands between her and the season that funds the valley; and neither of them expected the other to be right about the exact parts they each got wrong.

An outfitter who measures with her boots and an officer who measures with a clinometerA cracked climbing wall that has held for 31 years, patched yellow and shouldered past dailyA public comment window, a supervisor who wants the docket closed, and a town picking sides

From red tape on the posts to a blaze line cut by hand, from chalk dust in a crack to one clean note down an empty ridgeline, they learn what neither map nor memory could settle alone: a line walked together becomes a trail, and trust gets verified the same way anchors do, twice.

Clean and closed-door romance, dual POV, small-town Colorado, opposites attract, competent people falling carefully in love, and a guaranteed happy ending.

You find out what a line is worth when you walk it together.
