Rhythm's of Resilience: Finding Strength Through Heartache and Harmony

In Rhythm's of Resilience, it is the story of a young woman that endures heartache in ways most people would never dream of experiencing. Her life was normal during her youth in Toronto. Her parents love her with all their hearts and her mother is her best friend. As she matures through her teenage years, she will experience thrills and exciting moments with her friends at many of the attractions around the Toronto area. She will attend dances, conferences for the church at York University, and teaching the children gives her enjoyment. It is at the young adult campouts, dances, activities that she will meet men and women that will encourage her to succeed for the rest of their lives. As she watches others meet their soulmate, she has to wait until she is 29 before she finally marries the man of her dreams. Sadly, that is when her heartbreak is born, as her husband will be taken from her through death, leaving her a widow. She finds solace in playing the steel drums with the band and that helps her cope with her grief. Knowing she can't move on in Toronto, she will relocated to Ottawa, where she enjoys her life until a doctor reveals the prognosis that shakes her to the bone. She will have to go in for surgery. She has Thyroid cancer. She emerges from the surgery, but it has side effects that have to be overcome in time. She will then meet another man that she falls in love with and he asks her to move to Louisiana to live as his soulmate. They are married for all eternity and they experience many happy memories. It leads to them moving to Houston, Texas and it is there that the darkness of fate intervenes yet again. Her husband will be diagnosed with cancer and she will remain at his side through the good and bad times they are to endure. It is her third encounter with the deadly disease called cancer and sadly, she will watch her husband cross through the veil in death, leaving her alone, childless, and a widow yet again. It is through heartache and the resilience of the spirit that allows her friends to help her realize that obstacles are a normal part of the cycle of life and it isn't the past that guides us, it is the future and everyone is the author of their own destiny.
