A recommended and highly entertaining read

Jane has been selected by the school to be the freshman recruit at Crestview Academy - and from her new role she gains much popularity, though stealing it from others. While she revels in the clique and her newfound importance, it takes the needs of another loner to make her face her new persona and the results of her actions and compliance with the school's most popular group. Rhymes With Witches is a recommended and highly entertaining read.

AWESOME!

I absolutely love this book! I read it in one day and am craving more! I wasn't sure about it at first because I'm not too big into the unrealistic hocus-pocus stuff, but Lauren Myracle did an EXCELLENT job of writing this. It gives an inside view of high school on the top of the dog pile at all the parties and conversations of all the really popular kids, and also a view of the bottom of the dog pile (poor Jane). It also adds interest to the whole scene with the mystery of witchcraft. I would recommend this to any girl in high school or anyone with a little high school left in 'em. :)

Loved It!

I have to admit that the title and cover drew me in first but as soon as I started reading the story had me hooked. Jane's rise to Bitch status was compelling and it reminds us that popularity has a price for all of us. The exciting storyline had me flipping pages like crazy and I was sad it ended so soon! You won't be disappointed with this book!

Rhymes with Witches

This is a really great book for girls. It has an exciting plot and is about a freshman in high school and there is a group called the Bitches, they are the most popular people in school everyone likes them and everyone wants to be like them. Jane is invisible no one notices her and she desperatley wants to be part of the Bitches, and unexpectedly they invite her to be one of them. Alicia and Rae tell her they're bad news but she doesn't listen, she becomes popular, but she finds out mysterious secrets about the Bitches. It's kind of sad you could say the way she becomes invisible at the end and how Alicia and her aren't friends anymore but Jane learns a lot in the end and isn't sad about her life, she learns to live life to it's fullest, and to face each day with courage and determination

Best book I've read since "How I Live Now."

"Rhymes with Witches," is the best book I've read this year, since Meg Rosoff's "How I Live Now." I was so blown away by Rosoff's book, which I read toward the end of January, I couldn't imagine finding another book I liked as much, so soon. The story becomes progressively seductive, and much darker than I had envisioned, after hearing Lauren Myracle read a passage from an early chapter, last week (April 21) at a large bookstore in Brooklyn. The ending lacks the weight of character transformation that Rosoff's book serves up. And I'm not sure how much Jane, the main character, finds true independence, as a result of her experiences. But, among the wishy-washy, implausible plots and shallow voices currently flooding the teen pink market, Lauren Myracle's writing is a joy to read: her voice is dead-on, and she knows how to create a page turner. I read "Rhymes with Witches" in two sittings.
