Welcome To My Private Domain See the world through my eyes,seek shelter from the stormy skies,feel the pain of last goodbyes.Find a land of tiny folk,beware the horde of frogs that croak,and snooze beneath the mighty oak.Feel the flame of burning desire,be consumed by liquid fire,and cheer the hopeful, humble squire.Find a land of rainbow trees,sail upon synthetic seas,follow the plight of honeybees.Hear the murmur of muffled cries,the singing of sad lullabies,and listen closely for subtle sighs.In December of 1989, at the age of thirty-five, I wrote my first poem. I had no aspirations of being a poet, but the poems began to flow out of me, nonetheless. I have been writing poetry for over twenty years now and to this day, I still can't explain why. I don't encourage my muse, nor do I ignore it. I can go a year without writing a poem and at times, they flow out faster than I can write. For a while, I tried to fight the urge, but resistance is futile, so I continue to write. I guess you could say I am a reluctant poet. This collection represents the first ten years of my poetic endeavors. My poetry covers every subject imaginable and a few that aren't. Some of my poems are entertaining, some are thought provoking, and some are... I'll let you decide what they are.
