A thorough investigation into Rex Ingram:Great silent film director!
Published by George Viscas , 6 years ago
Only just received this book and am half way through already. Very readable and interesting dealing with his childhood and his growing awareness of cinema of the day and his strong imagination knowing that he could do something with this new medium. It's a great read and wonderful use of stills. What is amusing is the rather jealous feelings of Kevin Brownlow when he's given some photographs from Alice Terry, Ingram's widow, to give to the author. He had loved to have those for himself! Excellent forward and amazing how many great film makers e.g.; David Lean, who were inspired to become film makers themselves through the excellence of the film of Rex Ingram!
