A battle is won, yet a bloodier attack looms.
Molly Weston and British-born Geoffrey Canfield want to build a future together, but events in emotionally charged Boston conspire against them.
Once friendly neighbors scheme against one another. Patriots harangue merchants, sometimes physically, to sign the nonimportation agreement. Anonymous loyalists accuse merchants of illicit imports, resulting in unannounced raids on warehouses and homes. Thousands more British soldiers sail into port at the governor's request to protect the citizens and uphold the rule of law. Yet their presence further divides Boston's citizens and emboldens even the youngest of schoolboys to seek a larger role in the strife.
As the months pass, political differences grow into bloody physical brawls. When a riotous chase ends in murder, Molly and Geoffrey must decide their fate, just as Boston ignites the first spark of revolution.
