The objective of the Revolutionary Piano Method is for the student to internalize a cognitive procedure (thinking process) which will enable him to identify lines and spaces and locate their corresponding keys, as well as to develop early the ability to play by touch, rather than constant looking at the piano keyboard for orientation. The cognitive procedure facilitates keyboard playing without dependence upon hand positioning or fingering derived from five-finger positions. This is critical to the development of sight-reading skill and is similar to learning to read a language phonetically, rather than memorizing words by sight. Each Lesson Book introduces one concept at a time, allowing the student to become somewhat proficient with that concept through application within successive songs before continuing with another concept. Level 1: The student is introduced to the right hand treble staff letters and key locations.Level 2: Left hand bass staff letters and key locations are presented. Songs for the treble are included as regular review for the right hand.Level 3: After successfully playing each clef separately, both hands play together using the grand staff.Levels 4 and 5: Proper notes, rests, and timing are presented. The student develops more advanced sight-reading and playing skills.
